Kenzo World: Kenzo’s First Perfume Commercial Starring Margaret Qualley

Other Brands

Kenzo World is the name of Kenzo’s first perfume created by the house’s current fashion designers Carol Lim & Humberto Leon and developed by renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, which is already breaking the Internet with its unique bottle design and out-of-this-world commercial that makes us crave the scent. Soon to hit Kenzo.comSephora and Kenzo beauty counters at international department stores, Kenzo World is a lively, energizing scent with flower notes spiced up with the enticing quality of Ambroxan.

Kenzo World Perfume

To perfectly capture the lively spirit of the fragrance, Kenzo tapped Spike Jonze to direct a short 3-minute film starring actress and former dancer Margaret Qualley, who performs an outrageous and contagiously bubbly choreography by Ryan Heffington, who is also the choreographer of Sia’s “Chandelier.” Margaret is seen possessed by the force of the irrelevant scent, dancing to the eclectic song by Sam Spiegel & Ape Drums featuring Assassin.

Margaret managed to skillfully evoke the unique spirit of the Kenzo World perfume, embodying the Kenzo girl that “inhabits the present, like right now,” as Carol Lim and Humberto Leon explained. “She’s not nostalgic at all. She likes movement and speed and the way things shift and slide and collide in real time. She’s never blasé, always enthusiastic. She stands out from the crowd.”

Kenzo World opens with sweet floral notes of peony and Egyptian jasmine complemented with nose-titillating rock nectar and the key note of Ambroxan that “acts like the fog, when the mist blurs the contours of things all around, and we only recognize their hazy outline,” as Kurkdjian explains.

The scent comes captured inside an opaline glass bottle imitating the all-seeing eye, an iconic motif for Kenzo since its FW 2013 runway show. Patrick Li stands behind the design of the bottle, the black rubber cap of which was inspired by Kenzo’s iconic Kalifornia bag. Sleek pink gold metallic details finish off the modern design of Kenzo World’s flacon, which can become an indispensable accessory in a cosmopolitan woman’s handbag.

Kenzo World Perfume

As Carol and Humberto state, “the eye is both feminine and powerful at the same time” and the perfume’s eclectic essence is ideally encapsulated in the bottle design.

While Carol Lim & Humberto Leon’s first perfume was launched yesterday, the fashion world is counting the days until the 3rd of November, when the exciting Kenzo for H&M collection will hit over 250 H&M stores worldwide and the Swedish label’s online store.

The Best Bags

Other Brands

While the past year proved to be a tumultuous one in many ways,  It brought some new and never-seen-before styles, among them Dior’s Bar, a bag so reminiscent of bygone glamour it’s deeply modern; Prada’s hyper-practical and supremely lightweight Double bagicon; Nina Ricci’s Marché toteicon, which heralded a newly revived age of restrained elegance for the brand (I customized the one-of-a-kind pictured below!); and Alexander McQueen’s shapely yet nuanced Legendicon, their latest and already beloved release.
It also welcomed a few reimagined favorites, like Chanel’s witty, quintessentially quilted take on supermarket-chic; Givenchy’s refreshed Antigona toteicon, emblazoned with Bambi’s likeness for a winking nod to childhood pleasures; and Edie Parker’s glittery, Art Deco-update on their bespoke clutch.
A single trait the year’s best bags have in common? They were all cleverly marketed to satiate the social generation. This new era of playful self-promotion and the contented acceptance of the fact that our lives are on display (usually by our own volition!) gave way to a number of accessories that possess a sense of lightheartedness to their cores. Because if we don’t take ourselves too seriously, why should our bags?

The Best Bags of 2014

If I had to sum it up: Simple staples with elements of excitement, like shoulder bags in psychedelic chevron or old-school acrylic clutches in pearlescent blood red. Last year was all about the bucket bag, and while that trend is still going strong, schoolgirl chic backpacks (updated for the grown woman) are what everyone is clicking “Add to Cart” today for; so go ahead and pre-order that Mansur Gavriel now! You know there are only minutes left until it sells out…
Valentino Va Va Voom Chevron Striped Bag: Have we mentioned how obsessed we are with Valentino’s 1973 collection? If you haven’t tasted the rainbow yet, there’s no better time than the present!
Mansur Gavriel Large Backpack:icon The brand responsible for last year’s bucket mania can never seem to keep up with customer demand, and the latest must-have? The backpack.
Delvaux Brillant GMicon: What could be a better investment than a structured, black bag from one of the oldest leather goods makers (if not the oldest…but I know many will dispute that) in the world?
Edie Parker Lara Acrylic Ice Clutch Bag:icon We’re bound to see some Edie Parker grace the Golden Globes red carpet this weekend. Don’t let the celebs have all the fun, though! This fiery clutch doesn’t require paparazzi for a night out on the town (even if it deserves it).
My bedroom is painted the palest shade of blue, a most quietly calming hue. Not only is baby blue the ideal choice for my boudoir, it’s one of my favorite colors, especially when it comes to handbags. Don’t be fooled by the innocent associations. Its mood can run the gamut, depending whether it’s delivered with classic smooth skin or edgy textured leather, with hard structure, chunky hardware, or a super-slouchy silhouette.
1. Prada Saffiano Lux Double-Zip Tote Bag: This is one of my all-time favorite Prada styles. When it comes to classic bags, it’s hard to beat such an effortlessly polished number.
2. Balenciaga Maillon Mini All Afternoon Leather Tote: If you prefer your structured totes with a more avant-garde slant, opt for this ultra-modern top handle.
3. The Row The Sling Leather Bag: This slouchy sling is a must for girls who like their bags casual, comfortable, a little offbeat, and deeply luxe.
4. Tom Ford Alix Small Zip & Padlock Crossbody Bag: Count on Tom to make a sweet shade feel slightly sexy, thanks to his S&M-approved padlock detail.
5. 3.1 Phillip Lim The Pashli Mini Messenger Textured-Leather Shoulder Bagicon: For those Snobs who would normally steer clear of baby blue, Lim’s crackly, cream-tinged texture makes for a cool compromise.

Red-Hot Bags, Playful Colors

Other Brands

Welcomes the chicest wave of red bags we’ve seen, and this is a wave I want to ride. Forget the scarlet letter. Wear your red with pride! Fashion’s most powerful color makes for a great way to instantly energize your new year, and it also makes for the perfect foil to this season’s pale grays and assorted neutrals.
1. Mark Cross Laura Tri-Color Leather Crossbody Bag: Mark Cross’ original, glammed-up take on the old-fashioned lunchbox looks fresher than ever in bold blocks of red with jet-black trim.
2. Proenza Schouler PS Courier Small Backpack: Clean and casual, this backpack makes a cool enough statement in any color, but in cherry red, it’s a traffic-stopper.
3. MICHAEL Michael Kors Susannah Small Quilted Leather Shoulder Bag: Chevron is it for me this season, and this frugal find is as punchy and perky as it is practical.
4. Charlotte Olympia Flowering Pandora Box Clutchicon: I love a good optical treat, and the way this 3D flower jumps off the clear Pandora box, seemingly stemming from the interior pouch, is transfixing. On My Theresa for $1,319.
5. Alexander McQueen Skull Medium Padlock Leather Zip-Around Satchel Bag: Just when you thought McQueen had taken a fully ladylike turn, you notice this polished satchel naturally has rock ‘n’ roll-worthy skull hardware detailing to strike the right balance.

For every fantastic bright bag you collect, you probably want two to three relaxed, natural-looking bags. As fun, and sometimes necessary, as perky, offbeat colors are, it’s the true-to-nature neutrals that will take you through your real life. The new neutrals take a cue from shades reaped from the great outdoors, for ultimate versatility whether your hitting the streets or the great indoors.
1. The Row Textured-Leather Shoulder Bagicon: A dreamy clean body roughed up just a touch, thanks to an element of sandy suede (via the lining) makes for a simplistic bag that somehow oozes sophisticated style.
2. Khirma Herzog Croc, Snake, & Stingray Clutch: If you have the notion that a truly light and neutral evening bag can’t be edgy, then think again. When multiple elements of exotic skins are effortlessly involved, the edge factor skyrockets.
3. Maiyet Sia Bucket Bagicon: Think of this as the ultimate bag for a chic safari. Beige canvas suddenly feels all glammed up, and I have a feeling this base of striped watersnake has something to do with it.
4. Pierre Hardy Suede and Leather Crossbody Bag: There’s something about a blend of chestnut suede and leather that suggests early ‘70s cool. In a sturdy boxy shape with black piping, Pierre’s tomboyish top handle feels impossibly cool.
5. Elizabeth and James Cynnie Wool, Suede, and Leather Backpackicon: Kelly just fell for the tote version, and now I’m feeling their take on the backpack. Oatmeal wool feels so very soft, while the complimentary brown leather straps and pale suede pocket look perfectly naturalistic.

Take a hint from the latest runways and dive into color! But there’s no need to perform an all-out wardrobe overhaul. Hold onto your favorite neutral colors for the main part of your ensemble because a boldly colored bag is the simplest way to ease into color and test which searing new hue really speaks to you. Think of it as the most gratifying way to pack a visual punch, without going overboard. As for you color diehards, not to worry. We will get to the hot pink jumpsuit another time.
1. Saint Laurent Monogramme Cabas: Two words: Hot. Pink. There is something endlessly hypnotic about this perky yet powerful shade, especially when Saint Laurent is in the picture.
2. Victoria Beckham Textured-Leather Mini Satchel: You know that shade of blue the sky turns when it’s the brightest, most beautiful sunny day? That’s the exact color of Victoria’s trademark mini satchel.
3. Lanvin Sugar Mini Studded Leather Shoulder Bag: In a cute little size and covered in studs, the Sugar is already adorable. In juicy orange, it’s impossible to turn down.
4. Diane von Furstenberg Voyage Ready to Go Leather Tote: Up your carry-on game with an expandable tote in a can’t-miss-it color. Like DVF’s kindly priced bag in croc-stamped Kelly green.
5. Loewe Grande Leather Clutch: A big size in a big hue to match: Sometimes bigger really is better! Thankfully, the simplicity of the Grande clutch keeps the whole feel chic.

Hermès Passant Long Wallet

Other Brands

IMAGE: HERMÈS

If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen my flatlays and my 102,834 wallets, which should last me 29,132 lifetimes, give or take a couple. What I mean is, I really do have many, and the last thing I should be getting is yet another wallet. And other than something small from Louis Vuitton recently, I’ve been a pretty good boy.

That was till I laid eyes on this handsome beast. Trying hard not to break my resolve is going to be another supreme exercise in self-control, but I cannot fault this new wallet from Hermès in any way. Known simply as the Passant, it comes in two sizes, but the one featured in today’s post is the longer of the two that measures 20.5 cm by 9.5 cm.

Actually made up of two parts (this one comes in gorgeous Epsom calfskin leather), think general flap clutch (of sorts) on the outside, with a removable pouch on the inside. The pouch is also where all the action happens, where you slot in your cards and your cash, with an additional zip pocket for loose change and receipts.

Priced at GBP1220, you can use the clutch on its own, the pouch on its own, or both together, which is genius because you can mix it up as and when you like. Just don’t let me see this in town tomorrow or I swear this will become my 102,835th wallet. You know what I mean.

IMAGE: HERMÈS

If, however, you prefer something smaller, here’s the same Passant but with 2 card slots instead of the one you saw earlier which had 3. Also made of Epsom calfskin but in a colour called Flame, this one measures just 14.5 cm by 9 cm and retails forGBP1050. Yes, yes, yes!

For Those Looking For Funky Laptop Bags

Other Brands

Funky laptop bags are not for everyone or any occasion but laptop bags do not have to be “black and boring” all the time. Many people own more than one laptop bag and number of laptop covers and sleeves.

They own a “conservative” looking laptop bag and covers for formal occasions, like work and business. This usually means traditional laptop case in black or brown color. It can still be a stylish laptop bag, black does not have to be “boring”. While the cool laptop cases are for “private” use and tend to reflect the owners’ personality and style more.

Funky in the case of fashion means something modern and stylish in an unconventional or striking way (Google definition). Funky laptop bags can be colorful, fun, fashionable, unusual, controversial, humorous, quirky, provoking, pretty, eccentric… but they are always cool and stylish.

Funky laptop bags and covers are ideal accessories for those that dare to be different.

Amy Butler

Amy Butler
Amy Butler is an artist and designer that specializes in patterns and fabrics, which are then used in wide range of products including in fashion and travel bags. You can also get Amy Butler sewing patterns, fabrics, handcrafted wool rugs, wallpaper, customized wall art, etc.

Amy Butler seeks inspiration in the simple texture of everyday things, including nature and animals and she likes to travel for inspiration. Her patterns are colorful and busy but subtle at the same time.

Amy Butler laptop totes are basically funky handbags that you can fit in a laptop. You can get typical Amy Butler laptop covers as well, i.e. with her distinctive patterns on the inside and outside of the cover. You can also get more “conservative” looking cover, i.e. in solid color externally but it becomes Amy Butler laptop cover once you open it.

Clark & Mayfield

Clark & Mayfield
Clark & Mayfield laptop bags are modern and stylish in a striking way (so we use the Goggle definition of funky). Or like their tagline says… functional bags for the fashion-savvy woman.

Clark & Mayfield bags offer the style of a designer handbag but with the functionality to replace both briefcase and purse. This has made Clark & Mayfield laptop bags popular among young professional women.

The style is feminine and classic but the colors are still vibrant, making Clark & Mayfield both funky and stylish laptop bag for women of all ages.

Designer Sleeves

Designer Sleeves
Designer Sleeves design is definitely funky and fun but it is also very functional. Designer Sleeves laptop cases are made of durable neoprene rubber that gives maximum protection, i.e. the cool feel of the wet suit material provides natural moisture, shock and scratch protection.

Designer Sleeves also uses patented process to embed the external printed artwork permanently to the fabric, i.e. the ink will not crack or peel and is 100% washable.

We at B for Bag really like the Designer Sleeves style and feel everyone should be able to find Designer Sleeves laptop case to fit his or her personal style and circumstances. There are some really funky and outgoing designs available but also some more laid-back styles.

And the price is great too.
